Wigglebutt Warriors Set to Support Pugs in Need

What do you get when you cross a Cocker Spaniel and a Pug? On February 14, 2015, we’ll find out.

Wigglebutt Warriors, the fundraising arm of Fidose of Reality, is covering (and participating in) a glam affair to benefit Pugs in need.  From gala events to year-round fundraising efforts, our goal is to help as many dogs as we can.

Now we’ve gone to the Pugs.

Here’s the scoop:

Pugs for Pinky is a 501(c)3 to help pet parents of sick Pugs with medical treatment. Wigglebutt Warriors crusades to save dogs’ lives. It makes sense that we would swoop in and call attention to assist Lisa Coplin Kerner, Nancy Metzger, and Viki Anders.

Lisa is a 2014 Fidose of Reality Pawer Woman and has a long-standing love affair with Pugs. Lisa supports other rescue and is well-known in the pet fashion world. Her rock star Pug, Rose, is a fashionista with a huge heart and a wardrobe to rival Hollywood’s best. Most notable about Lisa is her kind personality, coupled with her humility. She is truly one of those people that folks say, “why yes, I know Lisa, everyone loves her!”

Pinky is the pug who inspired Lisa and the namesake of her foundation.

Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof

While attending the Wigglebutt Warriors 2014 fundraiser, Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof, Rose’s “boyfriend,” a Pug named Kismet surprised his oh-so-taken-off-guard with a romantic paw-prosal.

The Back Story

“In 2004 Rose was married to her late husband, Herbie,” Viki Anders, mom to Kismet, explains. “They had 4 beautiful Pug puppies: Porky, Pinky, Ruby, and Rio.”

Sadly, in 2009 Herbie was diagnosed with DM, degenerative myelopathy, a neurological disease that affects the spinal cord causing paralysis.  Fidose of Reality recently wrote about DM and how it is often misdiagnosed.

That same year Pinky was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and crossed the Rainbow Bridge seven months later.  Kerner started the foundation, “Pugs for Pinky” (PFP), in memory of Pinky, along with her friend, Nancy Metzger.  PFP holds fundraising events and online Facebook auctions to raise money.  In April, 2014 Herbie crossed to the Rainbow Bridge.

Pugs Go Glam

Rose and Kismet continue to travel together to canine couture fundraisers, red carpet events, and are well known for their divine couture.  At the Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof event, Kismet won Best Dressed Male in a Liberace-inspired 3 piece tux designed by Roberto Negrin, Hec-Lin Dog Couture.  Lisa, with Rose, won the Wigglebutt of the Year Award.

Love Never Ends

On February 14,  2015, Rose the Pug will “marry” Kismet in a Pugs for Pinky fundraiser in New York City. Fidose mascot and canine life force, Dexter, is proud to be a groomsman, and tickets are on sale now.

The general public is invited, and we’d love to see you there in support of Pugs in need. If you are unable to attend and would like to assist with sponsorship or a donation (any size is welcomed), please visit:
