Wigglebutt Warriors Announces Restructuring

wigglebutt warriors

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Those lines from Robert Frost resonate deep in my life and I look to them as a mantra for the way I choose to live. Taking the lesser, but higher, road has served me well in my life.

Wigglebutt Warriors™ is proud to take a new road, blazing trails, and setting our sights on helping even more dogs in need with a long-term plan in place.

Wigglebutt Warriors is the fundraising arm of Fidose of Reality. If you’ve been following along the Fidose of Reality magazine style dog blog, you know we restructured in recent months in order to bring our readers and fans the very best, brightest, most up-to-date and off-the-beaten path news, information, and lifestyle articles with regards to dogs. You’ve responded with ardent enthusiasm, and we will continue to bring you this….and much more…for years and years to come. At the very core of who I am, my heart beats dog.™

We are taking Wigglebutt Warriors back to its roots and its original founders: Darlene and Carol Bryant. Wigglebutt Warriors with the mantra, “Crusading to save dogs’ lives.” We are going to continue doing that and are upping the bar with more than yearly gala events. The gala events will continue. In fact, we are in the single digits with ticket availability for Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof weekend, taking place September 20 and 21 in Sterling, Virginia. This, as you know, is a fundraiser to benefit OBG Cocker Rescue. All funds raised will be going to help all the dogs in need who come into the care of OBG. To forge ahead, all parties involved can have creative differences but a shared vision of how to make their dreams become reality. This restructuring ensures all parties have that shared vision.

Since Wigglebutt Warriors is in the business of fundraising for dogs in need, we have made a business decision to move forward with the following paw-some things:

  • An e-book to teach others how to creatively fundraise for pet rescue: Coming soon; We are inspired by our speech at the BlogPaws Conference and the feedback received to create a resource for others. We are on it!

  • A Wigglebutt Warriors Pup Scout troop so that our troop members can do things to give back in their towns for pets in need AND you can live anywhere and participate. Thanks to Susan Godwin as a founder of Pup Scouts for approving this idea! Dexter has earned many badges and your dogs can, too!

  • Blogger involvement: Pet bloggers and microbloggers as well as anyone who wants to get involved whether or not you blog/microblog in the pet space;

  • Cats involved in Wigglebutt Warriors, thanks to partnering with Teri Thorsteinson for future events and fundraising;

Here is our new logo and Dexter and his predecessor, Brandy Noel, are truly the inspiration for why I wanted to get involved and do something to change the lives of dogs in need:

When paths change in life, we are of the belief that you let go of what isn’t working and walk toward what is. We are moving forward to help even more dogs in need. That is at the core of who we are and why we exist: There are so many animals who need assistance. The rescue groups can’t do it alone. You don’t have to be a Cocker Spaniel to be a Wigglebutt Warrior: You just need to have a willing spirit and a zest for giving back.  We are a drama-free group, we are a group of love and giving back, and that is how we continue to grow.

Since our very first fundraiser, Wigglebutt Wedding, in 2013, we have developed a lot and have finally worked out a business plan for Wigglebutt Warriors. The sky is the limit and just wait and see all that we have in store for dogs (and cats) who need us.

Without the assistance, hard work, creativity, and steadfast work ethic from Cheryl Haralson and Arline Kerrigan, both of OBG, we would not be able to achieve our Hollywoof goals. If you have a ticket, you are in for a spectacular evening and weekend.

We love our friends

At the Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof event, our mascot and Puppy Relations (PR) Manager, Dexter, will be walking the red carpet but he is unable to do this solo. Watch for a James Bond look from fashion guru and canine couture genius, Anthony Rubio, who is designing for Dexter. He is available for custom couture for your pet, too.

Dexter has asked Coco Chanel Bella, of Christine Aiello, to the Hollywoof event, and she has graciously accepted. Together, these two cuties will rock the red carpet and fundraise to help dogs less fortunate. Join us on our new path and thank you to all who support us, believe in us, and walk this path with us.

It has made all the difference in the world.

If you want tickets, hurry and get a move on. Also, we have a very special rate with a nearby gorgeous hotel for folks who want to stay over. For those unfamiliar with Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof, here’s the scoop.

Thanks to all our sponsors, without whom, Hollywoof and Wigglebutt Warriors, would not exist. Hope to see you in Virginia in September for a fab weekend that is totally pet friendly!

    You’ve really been working hard on this fundraiser. I can’t wait to attend. Your vision is endless, and your enthusiasm contagious. Your heart really does beat dogs.

    Love this new road you’re taking. Wishing you all continued success in all you do. I’ll always support WW.

  2. Cheryl says

    We, at Oldies but Goodies Cocker Rescue, are so thrilled to have been chosen by the Wigglebutt Warriors as the beneficiary of their red carpet event, Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof! More importantly, we love working with Carol, Darlene and Dex for a common goal . . . “crusading to save dogs’ lives!” The restructuring and new logo are great too! Can’t wait to join our own Pup Scouts Troop!!

  3. Lisa Bregant says

    So exciting! I’m looking forward to the e-book and blogger involvement. Delia and I haven’t been contemplating joining the Pup Scouts and cant wait to join the Wigglebut Warriors troop!

  4. Christine Aiello says

    Coco is so excited to be going as Dexter’s date for Hollywoof! She can’t wait to help him fundraise and help save the lives of other doggies and kitties. She is proud and excited to work with Wigglebutt Warroiors and can’t wait to see what else they have in store!!

  5. Linda P Konek says

    Carol how would I get Misty involved with the Pup Scouts? Would I be able to do things from our house because of me not being able to drive. Misty is very good with trying to help out. She grab my plastic cereal bowl when it was empty and took it out to the kitchen. She amazes me since it has been over 20 years since I lived with a dog.

    • Carol Bryant says

      Linda, you should join our troop when we start that up this fall – sound good??? Would love that!

  6. Donna says

    What happened to Zoey? Dexter and Zoey’s one yr anniversary is tomorrow. I have the 2014 calendar. Sad to hear if it is over between them. I loved their pictures. I was hoping to see them both at the fundraiser.

    • Carol Bryant says

      Yes, we have taken separate paths. Zoe is fine but life changes and we have a new beginning and re-purpose to Wigglebutt Warriors. Dexter is taking Coco Chanel Bella to the gala and we are so excited for this. So many things planned and all for the dogs in need. Ty and see you there!
