It’s time for three big announcements in the dog world. From idols to bachelors, America has seen its fair share of reality shows in the name of finding the “next big thing.” Wigglebutt Warriors® is the fundraising arm of this blog. We are sending reality to the dogs with the spotlight on dog rescue groups in the United States to take our money. Wigglebutt Warriors returns for a command performance and an attempt to up the “bark” with a brand new gala filled with fun, dogs, celebrating, and most of all fundraising for dogs in need.
An open call went out in mid March seeking one U.S. based 501(c)3 dog-related rescue group as the the benefactor of our 2016 red carpet event, Wigglebutts Uncorked, which is a pet-welcoming event for well-behaved dogs. Wigglebutts Uncorked takes place at The Grand Monarque Hall on the grounds of America’s oldest winery, Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville, New York, on April 16, 2016.
The applications came wagging into our email inbox.
We closely read through the applications and stories of dogs in need of forever homes. In a perfect world, Wigglebutt Warriors would fundraise for all dogs in need. All dogs deserve a loving forever home.
It was no easy task, but ultimately one group was selected and we are happy to report that the group who will benefit from Wigglebutts Uncorked is:
NYC Second Chance Rescue
Second Chance Rescue was formed in 2009 on the firm belief that all animals deserve to be loved and cared for, and no animal should ever be abused, neglected or homeless. Their mission is to facilitate the adoption/re-homing of animals that have been abandoned, or given up by their former owners, and to place them in new loving homes. They are 100% not for profit and to date have relied solely on donations from the public. They rescue dogs and cats from the streets, as well as from “death row” at municipal shelters around New York City. Before coming to them, most of the animals that they rescue have been abandoned or abused/neglected; a large number have serious medical issues and require immediate, emergency veterinary care. They protect and ensure the long-term well-being of these rescued animals by placing them in foster homes or private boarding facilities, where they are rehabilitated and cared for until a permanent home can be found. Jennifer Brooks is the founder and we are so excited to work with this dynamo who loves dogs!
Why NYC Second Chance Rescue?
Other than the above, Wigglebutt Warriors is committed to helping all breeds of dogs and all shapes and sizes from all walks of life: Mutts to pedigree, see?
Click here to learn about NYC Second Chance Rescue and meet them in person on April 16, 2016. Follow NYC Second Chance on Facebook and get to know them. Over the course of the next nearly year, we will be working closely with them to help them save more lives of animals in need.
Thanks to all who applied for benefactor status and we adore you for being a voice for the animals who, without you, would be silenced.

Who Are The Wigglebutt Warriors?
Wigglebutt Warriors® is the fundraising arm of Fidose of Reality. Combined, we’ve raised over $40,000 for homeless Cocker Spaniels to assist with medical, food, and basic needs until they find their forever homes. We are not a 501(c)3 but we raise money for 501(c)3 dog rescue groups in the United States. Founders, Carol and Darlene Bryant, along with their Cocker Spaniel, Dexter, are crusading to save dogs’ lives… with your help. We are two women on a mission, doing this from the heart because, as our trademark saying goes, “My Heart Beats Dog®!!!”
To date, Brotherhood Winery has never hosted a pet-friendly gala on their premises, but they have welcomed Wigglebutt Warriors and guests for this very special event!!!! We are making history!
Wigglebutts Uncorked takes place at The Grand Monarque Hall, or the Grand Salon as it has often been called. Join Wigglebutt Warriors for a night to remember in an early 19th century stone building with towering ceilings, hand crafted wooden floors, exposed wooden beams and ten foot round antique wrought iron chandeliers that all come together in a historic setting full of old world charm. The Grand Monarque Hall was built in 1860 and was actually where the wine was made before it was converted into an event space.
And be sure to sign up for our newsletter so you don’t miss a single Wigglebutt beat!
Congratulations and we are raising our sparkling water bowls to you, NYC Second Chance Rescue!
