Miracle Dog Needs Prosthetic Limbs: Dog Lovers Unite!

Dog Needs Help with Prosthetic Limbs

We know a miracle dog! Baby Joey was found in the south with both of his rear paws chopped off. The details are sketchy on what happened and who committed this horrific act, but this post is not about showing you graphic images nor graphic details. Baby Joey is all about hope, and now he needs our help to help him get prosthetic limbs.

Our friends at NYC Second Chance Rescue are fostering Baby Joey and incurring all of his medical costs, and that’s where you come in. Rather than ramble on, Baby Joey is guest blogging for us today and he says:

I just got home from my appointment with Dr. Block at Water4Dogs. After a thorough exam and X-rays, he thinks I may need further amputation of my right leg and possible prosthetics for one or both legs. I will be seeing orthopedic surgeon Dr. Infernuso for his opinion.

Dog needs help

When I’m a little more healed up, I will start rehab therapy on the underwater treadmill and swimming pool to keep my muscles balanced and supple. At home, my foster mama will do daily massage, stretching and passive range of motion.

I was also diagnosed with an acute case of sweetness and adorableness!!!

I overheard my foster mama worrying about the cost of all these things, especially the surgeries and prosthetics. NYC Second Chance Rescue is committed to giving me the chance to live the most functionally independent life possible.

Please help SCR by SHARING and DONATING here:

I wonder if he could be fitted with 3D prosthetics? I have seen them used before and they are much less expensive. What a sweet puppy. I wish nothing but happiness for the rest of his life. ♥

  2. Fur Everywhere says

I will never understand how someone could hurt an innocent animal! Poor baby. I hope and pray that all the funds needed for his care will be raised. I’m so glad that Second Chance has stepped up to help this sweet baby.

Hoping to attend the fundraiser – so horrific that sweet baby got injured that way but sounds like he is getting great care. I have also heard good things about the 3D prosthetics – hopefully he will recover fast.

Oh, I just hate reading this kind of story but apparently it needs to be told. I’m sure your fundraising efforts will really pay off. This poor, cute puppy needs a second chance!!!

Joey looks like such a sweet guy! It’s horrible that someone chose to hurt him this way. I hope that the doctors will be able to find just the right solution to help Joey carry on his life as normally as possible.
