Inside Scoop with Dog Trainer to the Stars
Steve Brooks is a world-renowned celebrity dog trainer, canine behavioral expert, and a talented cook who makes human meals that can be safely shared with your dog!
Long-time readers of Fidose of Reality know that yours truly burns water, so Steve is definitely a guy I wanted to meet. During the 2015 Westminster Kennel Club festivities, I sat down with Steve Brooks at the famous Hotel Pennsylvania. As the dogs checked in and the bustle of the city surrounded us, Steve shared some solid info about dog training, cooking for dogs, and more with us.
DOG BITES with Steve Brooks uses food as an effective training tool. In this book, you will discover what is safe and unsafe to feed your dog while learning how to modify your favorite meals to share with your pup! While Steve cooks recipes from Organic Turkey Meatballs, Sweet Pup-Tato Fries to Chicken Pup-Pie, he shares what is safe and delicious for canine consumption. He also demonstrates the health benefits and dangers of many human foods.
In the annual Easter Peeps Photo Contest kicking off on March 5, 2015, Steve will be giving away two copies of his book to two Fidose of Reality fans. In the meantime, grab your pooch, kick back, and check out this exclusive interview and then grab your copy by visiting Amazon.com here.
Here are a bevy of bloggers who, no doubt, love their dog as much as we do. I bet many of them share some food with their pets, too:
Hi Y’all!
Oh cool! My Human Papa loves to share whatever he eats with me. My Human Mama, if given her way, would make me stick strictly to my own food.
Y’all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
I have never heard of Steve Brooks until now. I love cooking for my dogs and sharing some of our fave foods w/ them. I mostly stick to boiled chicken & rice and sweet potato because I’m afraid of feeding them ingredients that could be harmful so this is a great tool! Thanks for sharing
Nice interview Carol. Take care
Wow, what a brilliant concept! Since I’m guilty of sharing human food with Wynston, I definitely need to look into this book…
Great interview!
What fun!!
Snorts,
Lily & Edward
Looks like a great book! Rolo loves sharing whatever I’m eating (as long as its not bad for him)
Cool! The test, Carol, will be if even YOU can use the recipes. *wags* – Gilligan from WagsAhoy.com
Always a good interview to read with Carol Bryant. I never heard of Steve Brooks until now. I just ordered the book. Looks like a great read that will inspire me to create some wonderful “bites” for my pooch!
Chicken pup pie sounds like it would be a favorite among my pups. I bet they wish I could cook meals like that for them. I just haven’t quite gotten there yet. lol

Very cool! I bet if you looked through our google history you would find all sorts of “is it safe to feed my dog…” searches! Love the idea of cooking for those goobers!
Steve sounds like a really cool guy. I am a horrible cook too, so I know what it is like to need people like Steve around.
