We came, we saw, we shook our wigglebutts, we raised money for homeless Cocker Spaniels. This is Wigglebutts Wonderland, and this is what the fundraising arm of Fidose of Reality is all about.
On September 10, 2017, 40 people and close to 30 dogs came together at one of the only pet-friendly amusement parks in the USA, Knoebels Amusement Resort, to raise funds and awareness for San Diego Spaniel Rescue. This is no ordinary fundraiser, and this is the inside scoop on what went down and how you can win a swag bag of your very own!

Who Are Wigglebutt Warriors?
Wigglebutt Warriors® is the fundraising arm of Fidose of Reality. We’ve raised over $62,000 for homeless dogs to assist with medical, food, and basic needs until they find their forever homes. We are not a 501(c)3 but we raise money for 501(c)3 dog rescue groups in the United States. Founders, Carol and Darlene Bryant, along with their Cocker Spaniel, Dexter, are crusading to save dogs’ lives… with your help. We are two women on a mission, doing this from the heart because, as our trademark saying goes, “My Heart Beats Dog®!!!” We have done four in-person galas/events and online fundraising events, with more to come!
Why Do We Fundraise and For Whom?
If every person did one thing to help dogs in need, imagine how amazing this world would be. This year, we selected San Diego Spaniel Rescue in San Diego, California. We selected this group because of a wonderful lady named Naomi Lukaszewski. Naomi and her hubby have fostered close to 90 Cocker Spaniels until they could find their forever loving homes. She is an amazing woman, and although we have never met, she inspires me. Wigglebutt Warriors fosters a 501c3 and this time, the funds raised will go to San Diego Spaniel Rescue. We name Naomi Lukaszewski as the Wigglebutt Warrior of the Year 2017.
In Her Own Words
Naomi tells us “I am wife to a man who is amazingly patient with my quirks (like offering to transport and house 3 dogs for a day, forgetting we already had 3 dogs at home.), the proud mother of a beautiful daughter and a Kindergarten teacher in San Diego CA. I volunteer for San Diego Spaniel Rescue and have been fostering dogs for them since 2009. I have also learned how to groom Cocker Spaniels and groom all the fosters when needed. Well-groomed dogs are more appealing and therefore, more likely to get adopted. It also allows the rescue to save money on grooming and use those funds for medical costs. Fostering has not only educated me about dogs (Cockers are really Kindergartners with four legs and fur) but about people as well. “
In response to be selected Wigglebutt Warrior of the Year for doing so much in the name of dog, Naomi says, “My father was always about doing things because it’s the right thing to do, not for reward. I love fostering for the “warm fuzzies” I get watching people fall in love with their new furbabies. I feel that working with dog rescue is special but I don’t feel that what I do is any more special than any of my other colleagues in rescue. I mean, no one is asking me to do a reality show called “Cockers and Kindergartners” instead of “Pitbulls and Parolees”. Then I get blown away because someone I have come to admire and respect tells me that I deserve recognition. You made me feel special. I can’t thank you enough.”
We thank YOU and your family, Naomi, for opening your hearts and homes to Cockers in need.

Cocker Jenga
Rae and Tom Johnson of Hot N Holdin Custom Wooden Projects donated this awesome Cocker Jenga yard game, which you can also play inside.
These sets are carved with premium wood from a saw mill. Not your average crooked, bent or bowed boards from your local home improvement store. These boards are hand planed, sanded and cut to 10.5 inches. Each set includes 54 pieces. Making the entire set 10.5×10.5×27 to start.
Players take turns removing one block at a time from a tower constructed of 54 blocks. Each block removed is then placed on top of the tower, creating a progressively taller and unstable structure.

The Day’s Events and Total
From a Wigglebutt Express train ride to Chinese auctions, homemade food and goodies, friendships formed and strengthened, the fundraiser was a success. Guests walked the amusement park grounds, which are super pet welcoming, sampled fab foods, played games, and enjoyed watching the dogs in the doggie dive, too.
Not including additional private donations, we raised $1,141 for San Diego Spaniel Rescue. Each guest received a swag bag of goodies to take home. The Premiere Sponsor of the event, Only Natural Pet, is home to some of the finest natural, organic, and safe products for dogs and cats. I’m actually equally a dog and cat person, but (don’t tell the cats), by personality I’m actually a bit more of a dog person. I love their loyalty, unconditional love, playfulness, etc. I think the one word to me that sums up how I feel about dogs is LOVE!

People have already said “everything”, but it’s true. Also, if I can hyphenate for it to be one word…”pure-love”.
