When my dog was “wed” to the love of his puppy life, Zoe aka Domestic Dogdess, this past June for the Wigglebutt Wedding, the true goodness in people’s hearts emerged. The entire princess-style gala was in the name of dog, as this “fun-draiser” took place to help raise money for Life’s Little Paws Cocker Spaniel Rescue Group. Party favors and goodies included dog products ranging from fun and quirky to yummy and flavorful.
Some of the fabulous dog products came from companies who supported the cause and gave so generously of their hearts, products, and pocketbooks in the name of helping Cocker Spaniels in need so this “fun-draiser ” could happen. Of course, I’d be lying through my canines if I said we didn’t have fun. Getting hands on and trying out some of the many dog products that graced our gala meant lots of fun. Here are five of the products for dogs we discovered that made our tails wag for one reason or another. See if you might just be overlooking these (and if you are, run, don’t walk to get your paws on some):
Three Dogz Apparel
Clothes for the dog lover and the dog in your life are on tap from the folks at Three Dogz, LLC. When they tell the world via their website they plan to “design and create high-quality products that are unique and useful for pet lovers,” they mean it. The mother of the groom, yours truly, and the mother of the bride, Val Sorensen, proudly wore our shirts proclaiming our very fun status, as you can see:
I had the pleasure of wearing a Three Dogz, LLC, hoodie (with matching doggie bandana) a few years back, and I fell in love with the line. My hoodie proudly proclaims, “Wild About Dexter.” Yes, I have a gorgeous hoodie now that reflects what I’ve been feeling inside since my baby boy came into my life. This isn’t an ordinary hoodie. One can have their dog’s name put on the front or even a favorite breed (choose from eons of breeds in the Three Dogz, LLC collection). Featuring their “Love the Paw”designer print, the cotton/poly blend kept me warm all day. I loved the generous cut of the hoodie, too. Made in the USA gets bonus points.
Not to be mismatched, Dexter had his “Wild About Mommy” bandana (I know, too cute for words, right?). Wear the hoodie while your pooch sports the bandana and watch the social butterfly you become. It’s hard not to write something adorable about this line, but the wearability and how it stood up to washing machine cycles many times are the true tests for me. I’m now even wilder about the products, since the hoodie laundered so well.
Meantime, I love blinging out with my Mother of the Groom shirt. Three Dogz, LLC, also has a host of items with rhinestones, so let your fingers do the shopping: Three Dogz LLC
Sweet Paws Bakery
I met Colleen O’Fallon while walking the trade show floor at Global Pet Expo in Florida. This sweetheart of a human being recognized my dog and his online persona. How fun is that? We got to chatting, realized our shared love of Cocker Spaniels, and I learned of Sweet Paws Bakery, of which Colleen is the proud proprietor. The products Colleen makes at Sweet Paws are enough to make any doggie drool and beg for seconds. I know this is true because canine guests of the Wigglebutt Wedding feasted on Sweet Paws yummies!
I am very fussy about what my dog eats, and chances are you feel the same way, right? Consider these delectables for your dog:
Bow Wow Brownies: Made from Whole Wheat Flour, Honey, Egg, Carob Chips, and Carob Powder.
Kooky Cocker Carrot Cookies: These cookies are perfect for dogs with allergies. Buy one half dozen super healthy, allergy free vegan carrot cookies for your furry friend. Ingredients: Carrots, Rice Flour, and Safflower Oil.
Snickerpoodles: Old-Fashioned Cinnamon Snickerdoodles, a cookie jar staple. You get half a dozen–perfect for spoiling your ‘Grand-dog!’ Ingredients – honey, egg, white flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cornmeal, cinnamon.
Cuteness factor + safe ingredients + made fresh on site and shipped to your door = Formula for yummy success. Dexter does a major wigglebutt wag for the Kooky Cocker Carrot Cookies. Check them out at Sweet Paws Bakery.
Custom made hats and bow ties for dogs: Would a dog wedding be complete without them? Nope! I met the Mad Dog Hatter on Facebook and fell in love with their designs. Many of our guests in attendance wore the bow ties and hats, and how chic they looked! Check out Guinness in her fabulous apparel and Mad Dog Hatter topper!
With the holidays approaching and Halloween just around the corner, CEO Vicki is happy to design for you or choose from one of her in-stock designs. Check them out on Facebook at The Mad Dog Hatter.
Lucy Maloney of Miniature-dogs-cats.com crafted the cake topper for the Wigglebutt Wedding cake and she is also a major player in our upcoming gala, which you all are invited, Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof. The glam and glitz and progress of Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof is taking hold. Even though the pet-friendly gala event takes place in September of 2014, the surprises, ticket sales, and hotel room bookings are soaring. Again, we are raising funds for rescue, including Oldies but Goodies Cocker Spaniel Rescue. All attendees of the Wigglebutts Go Hollywoof event will have the opportunity to win a one-on-one, once-in-a-lifetime exact replica of your dog (or cat). Lucy will work closely with you to get the details just right, and trust me: She is very dedicated to her craft and truly gets the love and bond between pet parent and pet.
In the meantime, you can order your own miniature from Lucy by checking out Miniature-dogs-cats.com.
Being able to relive the magic of the Wigglebutt Wedding is easy thanks to the photographic stylings of Luminaria Photography. Michelle Macirella and staff will come to you and photograph your dog with their touch of magic. Not all photographers are created equally, and one peek at some of the images Luminaria took at the wedding and you’ll see what I mean. (photos below are courtesy and copyright Luminaria Photography)
Check out some of the pet photography from their online album here: LuminariaPhotography.com.
Michelle was timely, involved, professional, and captured the heart of the dog gala so we could cherish the memories forever. She is sure to do the same for your dog.
There you have it: Five dog products we wag for – and with the holidays coming, something to keep in mind.
Note: We were not compensated to write any of this. We just love sharing dog products from companies in which we here at Fidose of Reality have had great experience(s).
